We had an absolutely fantastic time with David in Madeira. David was super friendly, always punctual (arrived before time), and highly knowledgeable of all travel related info. He clearly knew all destinations and places in the Island inside out, and hence was able to give us perfect instructions every time which made our life very easy. He followed our plans exactly and his additional recommendations were also fantastic. My wife is also pregnant and David made sure to drive smoothly and carefully to make it more comfortable for her. In addition, he spoke perfect English which allowed to learn a lot about the Island. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with David and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guide/taxi in Madeira. ~ Amit G

We had a fantastic taxi tour around Madeira and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Our driver, Catia, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made us feel at ease from the moment we set off. Her knowledge of the island was excellent — she knew the area inside out and shared interesting information and local insights throughout the journey. What really made the experience special was how Catia tailored the tour to our own interests and requirements. She was happy to adapt the route, make great suggestions, and allow plenty of time at each stop without any pressure. It felt very personal rather than a standard tour. I wholeheartedly recommend CATIA ABREU to my closest friends and everyone. The moment we first saw her, we decided to ask her if she was available for a ride from the cruise terminal to the restaurant. An elderly couple got out of her taxi at the cruise terminal and hugged and kissed her, thanking her for the wonderful trip she had taken them on and the day they would remember for the rest of their lives. After the ride began, I quickly understood why the couple before us had been so impressed with Catia. All the recommendations and information she gave us were from the heart and we really enjoyed her recommendations. We met David in Funchal and he gave us details of the half day taxi tour he was offering. We agreed a price and he collected us from our hotel at 9.30. We explained that it was our first visit to Madeira.He gave us lots of interesting information about the island along the way. We drove through some fabulous scenic areas, especially some of the steep hill routes! The highlights were Cabo Girāo - the highest cliffs in Europe, The Statue of Christ the King and the botanical gardens, we finished the tour with a Cable car ride back to Funchal. It was a fabulous experience and very good value, David is a really nice guy, he shared our sense of humour and we felt very safe with him. We would recommend him if you visit Madeira ~ steve b

I was very nervous to book a 4am pick up to Madeira Airport. I contacted several airport transfer companies. My Madeira Taxi responded swiftly, professionally, gave all details and quoted. It took a few days for others to respond and quotes varied wildly. I chose to go with mymadeira taxi and was so impressed with their service. They reconfirmed the night before, provided driver name and contact telephone no. The driver Cátia texted me 10 mins before pick up to say she was there. Spoke superb English. David was excellent. Our cruise ship diverted to Madeira and as a result I had to make last minute plans. He was perfect and responded quickly via WhatsApp. We settled on a very fair price. He was waiting right at the cruise entrance and to me and my family on a guided tour of the island managing to hit all the scenic highlights negotiating windows between fog and rain. He even brought umbrellas just in case. The conversation was fun and the trip was laid back and we felt we got a great sample of Madeira. This was our first time visiting Madeira and we don’t drive so wanted to see more of the island than just Funchal. Catia took us on a 5 hour private tour to all of the places we wanted to see. Her car was comfortable, she was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our day together. As well as the tour, Catia did our airport transfers including a very long one from Porto Moniz. She told us about all of the things we passed even when we weren’t actually on a tour. I highly recommend Catia and we are already planning to come back next year and have her show us other parts of the island. ~ Ilana K

I cannot recommend My Madeira Taxi enough! In a bit of a panic, I messaged David who immediately responded and helped set up a drop off at PR1 for sunrise, pickup at Achada do Teixeira, stop for lunch in Santana, and return to Funchal. Catia, our driver, was punctual, efficient, knowledgeable, and super friendly. She dropped us off at the best spot for sunrise, adapted to what we wanted on the day, and gave us great recommendations for Madeira. We had a great experience with this taxi driver. He helped us experience a lot in a short time, including lovely hikes. It truly felt like we saw a big part of the island. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful, sharing interesting information about Madeira and local life. We wanted to go to market and he not only took us there, but even helped us choose great products, and recommended excellent places to eat. David from MyMadeiraTaxi was excellent from booking process, price charged and service delivered. I highly recommend him. I found MyMadeiraTaxi on the Google after arriving at Madeira airport. I wanted an airport transfer and also to stop by a shop in Funchal to pick up some walking poles, before heeding to my hotel in Machico. David and Càtia are highly professional and always put forth an exceptional effort to satisfy the needs of their clients. We found them to be extremely helpful from the moment we stepped into their cab at the airport and we used them throughout our stay on this beautiful island. My Maderia Taxi was friendly, attentive, prompt and professional! David answered all of my questions to transfer my husband and I from Achada do Teixeira car park / Pico Ruivo parking area and drop-off: Pico do Areeiro / PR1. His wife, Catia, picked us up and was so easy to talk to and informative about Maderia. We loved our 1hr ride together. We searched for a while to find someone who could put a tour together for us. We struck lucky. David took full account of our wishes and put together the perfect itinerary at a reasonable price. I used My Madeira Taxi 3 times during my visit to the island. Twice for hiking transfers and once for a full day tour. David was immensely helpful with planning and logistics, especially when my planned hike was closed for maintenance and I needed recommendations for other routes. Our other driver, Eddy, navigated the harrowing streets of Madeira like a pro and was very patient and flexible with my whole family, including small kids. Couldn’t recommend them enough! ~ Katie S

Amazing from start to finish we had 2 people with reduced mobility. Katy took us to places of interest that did not include lots of walking. These included the tabbogan, sky walk, cable car, Fisherman's village, Local cafes for coffee and cake and more. We highly recommend using Katy or Husband for your private excursion beet the rush we were on a cruise ship and pickup was from the gate my clients would like to say thanks for a great day out. ~ Alan B

A really fast and responsive service. I booked a taxi quite late in the evening for the next morning by sending a request simply on whatsapp and received a confirmation within a couple of minutes. In the morning our driver David was waiting for us already and was super friendly and helpful. He told us about Madeira, answered our (silly) questions and gave us some good advice.
